Renewal Reflections
Today we are invited to be encouraged by the Holy Spirit, stand up and be at peace. Today is a good day to be active in prayer and have a peaceful family day. We are invited to pray unceasingly. This morning perhaps relax in the presence of family and have a special family breakfast and pray “Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them in the fire of your love.” This afternoon take time as…

Letter from Bishop Bittman – Coronavirus (COVID19)
Peace and isolated greetings from Bishop’s office! I hope this finds you well. Bishop Bittman remains well informed on the COVID-19 situation in our province and follows the recommendations of Provincial Heath Minister Adrian Dix and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry. Under their direction, Bishop Bittman issues the following updates: Parishes, parish offices and the Catholic Pastoral Centre are to remain closed to the public until May 15. We will update again as that date draws nearer. The Family…
Renewal Reflections
Today we are asked: Why are you persecuting me? What does it mean to persecute Jesus? We are invited to a personal friendship with Jesus and allow Him to remove the blinders that cover our eyes, our heart. Today is a good day to do some soul cleaning. Perhaps spend some time reading through an Examination of Conscience. Do I love my God? Do I love my neighbour? How have I fallen away from Love?
Renewal Reflections
Today we are called to seek and understand. Today is a good day to open your Bible. Open to the Book of Isaiah and find one passage that speaks to your heart. Read it 3 times: the first in silence, the second aloud and the third in silence. Spend a few moments after each time and allow it to penetrate your heart. Invite Jesus to be your guide and your interpreter. Did you encounter Him?
Renewal Reflections
Today, we are called to accept Jesus into our lives and submit to the will of God. How do I know what that is? Today is a good day to remember that I am a child of God. As we spend every day in a routine that has developed, perhaps take a step outside of the routine. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Our Mother Mary submitted fully to the will God and gave us our…
Renewal Reflections
Today we are reminded that Jesus is the Bread of Life. Without Him, we will hunger, and we will thirst. It’s so difficult now that we are not able to receive the Bread of Life physically and we may feel empty and alone. However, He is present in the love that binds family together. He strengthens us, he holds us in his Sacred Heart, he walks with us on our road through life and He is present. Today is a…
Renewal Reflections
Today, I am called to believe in Jesus and to carry out God’s work. Is that asking too much of me? God sent his Son to me. Jesus has called me to a personal relationship and has opened the gates of heaven so I can remain forever in God’s house. Today is a good day to give something to those who are in need. Perhaps buy some groceries at IGA and give them to the Society of St. Vincent de…

Renewal Reflections
Today, I am called to be subject to my elders, put on a garment of humility, bow before my God and increase in faith and knowledge. Perhaps today is a good day to gather the family and look through some family pictures together. Moments of joy that were captured forever, moments of sadness that were captured forever. For those of us whose parents or family members now sit at the foot of Jesus, perhaps offer a prayer of thanksgiving for…
