Beloved Parishioners,
Upcoming Youth Retreat: NET
Included in this bulletin is an insert outlining the details of our upcoming youth event. Could you say a prayer that this will be a life-changing event for our youth. Please could you take the insert and give to any youth you know—Catholic or non-Catholic, maybe your grandchild, and invite them to this event. Learn more.
Last Wednesday we started an extended Holy Hour Adoration at St. John Vianney.
From 10am—12noon, we would need two people for each time slot for Adoration. A sign up sheet for these 15minutes time slots is at the back of the Church. Thank you for considering spending some time with Jesus. One of the ways to any true revival and renewal in any parish is by spending time with Jesus in Adoration. From there, we receive the strength to embark on other things the Lord is calling us to.
I will be available during this time for Confession and counselling or if you need to speak with me.
February 11: Anointing of the Sick
February 11 is the Feast of our Lady of Lourdes. It is also known as World Day of Prayer for the Sick. This is a Saturday. We will have anointing of the sick after Mass for our parishioners. Through anointing of the sick, our dear Lord grants healing in various ways to the sick, strength to bear our sickness and most importantly gives us an assurance of the closeness of Jesus to us: He who is our healer!
Catholic Schools Week
It was quite a week as we celebrated Catholic Schools Week. I truly enjoyed all the activities: Adoration, Walk with Jesus, Dressing up as your favourite Saint, skiing, movie. We are so grateful to God for our principal, teachers and staff. We appreciate you for all the many ways you have supported Catholic Education and continue to do so. When Noah Adam’s mom asked who he wanted to be, he told his mom that he just wants to be Fr. Obi. I think we have an upcoming priest. I see future saints in these kids.
Your brother,
Fr. Obi
