Churches Fully Open – Thanks be to God!

Joy and Thanksgiving

It is with great joy and thanksgiving to God that we welcome everyone who is ready to come back to church in-person. We no longer have any capacity limitations, and no pre-registration is required!

Sunday Mass Times

With the removal of capacity limitations, we will be returning to our regular (pre-COVID) Sunday Mass times. These are:

  • St. Ann’s
    • Saturday @ 5:00pm
    • Sunday @ 11:00am & 6:00pm
  • St. John Vianney
    • Sunday @ 9:00am

Additionally, as we no longer have to count attendance or collect contact tracing information, we will no longer require pre-registration for Mass. Just come and worship at your preferred Mass.

The most up-to-date information about our Mass times is always available on our Mass Times and Prayer in Penticton page.

Mask Recommended, Not Mandatory

Although the Public Health Order restrictions have been lifted, it is a wonderful act of charity for all of us to continue, if possible, to maintain some distance from our brothers and sisters while in the pews. Step 3 of the BC Government Restart Plan recommends masks be worn for all people 12 years and older who are not yet fully vaccinated.

What Happens During Mass?

During Holy Mass you will still notice a few small changes.

Holy Communion: We will not yet receive the Precious Blood in the Chalice but will resume coming up for Holy Communion at the front of the church using the center aisle.

Offertory: Since there will be no Offertory Procession, there will continue to be a basket at the entrance of the church for you to place your offering.

Singing: We will continue the practice of no singing during Mass as we await further direction and guidance from the Bishop.

Communication

If you know of any parishioners who do not receive any of our electronic communication, we invite you to get in touch with them and invite them to come and worship!
