Renewal Reflections

Today’s Collect (our gathering prayer) reminds us that God never ceases to bestow the glory of holiness on us, his sons and daughters.

One part of the Mass that I can get lost in is the Holy, Holy. Please permit me to bring you there with me..

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

One particular hymn that I can also get lost in is, This is Holy Ground. Please permit me to bring you to part of this hymn with me.

This is Holy ground, we’re standing on Holy ground
For the Lord is present and where he is, is Holy.

These are holy hands, we’re lifting up holy hands;
He works through these hands and so the hands are holy.

These are holy lips, he’s given us holy lips
He speaks through these lips and so these lips are holy.

We, the sons and daughters of God have been infused with His holiness and the incredible gift of the Holy Spirit within us is our constant companion, protecting us, guiding us, calling to us, animating our lives to holiness. We are promised “the Father will send you the Holy Spirit, to be with you forever”.

Today, I invite you to open your Bible and read John 17:11 for it truly is an intimate conversation between the Son and the Father where he pleads … for us.
