Today we are reminded of the true gate keeper.
While on a recent vacation, I was able to witness a sheep dog herding the sheep into their pen. The dog listened to the calls and whistles of his keeper and even had to go away from the herd to redirect a lost sheep. We were told that the dog only listens to the one voice of his master. It was remarkable to witness. He was distant, far from his keeper and yet he heard his voice and every one of the sheep was brought safely through the gate to the pen. The keeper then closed the gate, and all were safe.
Can we hear the voice of Jesus calling us? Do we listen to His voice and respond? Do we return home safely to Him?
My name is Bernadette and God has called me by my name. Today, I am going to hear that call, listen to that call and come home safely to His Holy Church.
