Renewal Reflections

Today, we are reminded that the Lord has revealed his saving power.

So often Jesus speaks of revealing himself, of who He is, especially by dispelling darkness and replacing it with light. He has gently but sternly spoken his word – I am the light of the world.

Today he shares with his apostles “A little while, and you will no longer see me, and again a little while and you will see me”. At his death, there was darkness, at his resurrection there was light. At Pentecost there is the Advocate. He has encouraged us not to hide our light under a bushel for it is in Him, with Him and through Him that we have our salvation.

We can no longer see Him walking with us, talking with us, sharing a meal with us, holding us in joy and sadness, or can we?

The Lord has revealed to the nations his saving power – to each of us. It is through selfless, unconditional sharing of love that we will see Him today and everyday that follows.

Today, perhaps go for a walk with Him, spend time speaking with Him, share a meal with Him and bring to Him your joy and your sadness.
