Today we are reminded that God is not hidden from us, that He has made Himself known.
I’ve been to Athens twice and on one occasion to the Aeropagus – the very hill where St Paul stood when he spoke so boldly to the Athenians. Imagine yourself there – atop a rocky hill, overlooking the great city of the Greeks – Athens, home to their gods. He wasn’t speaking to the ordinary man there, he was speaking to the aristocratic council of ancient Athens, and his words were not well received. But still, he spoke to them with such conviction that some did become believers in Jesus our Lord.
To boldly proclaim, “The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands…” and then to continue, “In him we live and move and have our being”.
Indeed, we search, we seek, we question and yet the only place we have to look is to our Lord. Here’s here. He is not hidden.
Today, I invite to you to join us in celebrating our live-streamed Mass at 9:00 am and then spend a half an hour in adoration with Him. If you cannot join us live, it’s recorded – join us when you can.
He is not hidden. He is present. Come, spend time with Him.
