The little boy must have wondered: what now – what will this man called Jesus do with my lunch?
A man once said: “There is nothing that I gave to Jesus that I regretted.” The little boy – seeing what Jesus did with his lunch must have been happy and exited. More than 30,000 people were fed. The little boy has made a difference in so many people’s lives because He gave to Jesus.
There are many needs in world. While many in our world lack food and water, there are many who are hungry for the food of the soul.
Every year, Our Pilgrimage of Faith Fund is used to provide for the many spiritual needs of our diocese:
Catholic Education for our young ones, Catechism, Adult Faith Formation, Retired Priests: helping them to retire with dignity and with a smile, Youth Ministry, Training and formation of Seminarians, Evangelization, Teachers and Catechists: training and spiritual formation, First Nations Ministry, Seton House of Prayer: a place of renewal and our spiritual power house etc.
Imagine how many people who will be fed spiritually in our diocese because of your love and generosity.
If you have not given this year, would you consider giving to Jesus? Your gift is sacred: a gift from the heart.
Sometimes we might think that what we give is small or insignificant but the truth is: ‘with Jesus, nothing is small: nothing is insignificant. Whatever we give Him, He takes it, blesses it and we see miracles happen.
Pilgrimage of Faith is so much more than money: it is our journey together as a diocesan family, our journey as a pilgrim people towards God, towards heaven our homeland.
Because you gave, imagine the many lives that will be touched this year, children who will learn about Jesus at Catechism and in our school, youth who will get to know Jesus in a personal way, retired priests who will continue to retire with dignity and meaning.
Thank you for offering your own 5 loaves and two fish to Jesus this year. Thank you for making a difference in someone’s life this year.
May Jesus who comes to us in the Eucharist satisfy all your needs and provide for you and for all whom you love.
Your brother,
Fr. Obi
