My dear friends,
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ!
This week I was able to attend the Christmas Concert at Holy Cross School entitled “A Play in the Manger”. It was really amazing to see how our kids did their role and acted with love, enthusiasm and hard work. The play really made me ponder on these messages:
Jesus, the Son of God was born in humble surroundings, that God became flesh and lived among us, so that we could become children of God.
The manger—the feeding trough—was a sign of what Jesus came to do. He came to offer Himself as bread for us. He came to satisfy our hunger that could not be satisfied by the world.
The manger – a metaphor—Newborn Jesus, the Bread of Life, lay in a feeding trough in the little town of Bethlehem, which means “the house of bread” in Hebrew. No other food has the power to give us everlasting life (John 6:51). No other nourishment can yield lasting joy (Jeremiah 15:16).
This week pray and reflect on what can you offer or do to God this Advent & Christmas Season? God has given us Jesus, the Bread of Life – born in a manger.
Happy Advent Sunday! God Loves you!
