Behold our new deacons and their wives!
Congratulations, Dale and Peter. May Jesus bring to completion the good work He has begun in your life.

Oh my people what have I done to you?
From time to time, some unknown people have been putting an orange shirt on the statue of Jesus in front of St. Ann’s Church. Last week, they painted the statue orange. Hugo and Irene (from Vancouver), driving by saw it and phoned me and asked if they could come and repaint it. They did a wonderful work repainting it. It looks even more beautiful than before. Thank you, Hugo and Irene!

It is obvious that the people putting an orange shirt and painting the statue want to make a statement and express their feelings and frustrations against the Church. We need to make room for that. Jesus endured a lot of scorching at the pillar.
While we do not want to see this happening, may it be a reminder that the Church – the bride of Jesus – is undergoing a purification so that she may look ever more radiant and beautiful.

We are truly sorry for the actions of some members of the Church which has left a stain on the Church.
In all of this, Jesus is at work: painting, reshaping, remolding, and recreating all of us, the Church and the world. We praise you, Jesus, for all You are doing.
This weekend I give thanks to God for each and every parishioner, for all our families. May you have a wonderful celebration with family and friends.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
Your brother,
Fr. Obi
