My dear friends,
Praise be Jesus Christ now and forever!
As you know, I just came back from my holidays, and some of you asked me, “How’s your holiday?” “Where did I go?” etc. Honestly, it was one of the best holidays. I had the opportunity to reflect on my life’s journey; God’s calling & mission, God’s goodness & love and God’s mercy & compassion. It was an occasion for me; to listen to more on audiobooks, podcast, watch some good movies and read some books. I always pray that God will guide me with His will that in everything I do, I have love & serve Him and my neighbor. I would like to thank you my brothers & sisters for your care, love and prayers during my holidays.
This weekend, we are now midway through our Lenten journey. The fourth Sunday of Lent which is known as “Laetare” Sunday, meaning “rejoice!”, a celebration of hope, signifying the joy and anticipation for Easter. Forgiveness is our word this Sunday. “I forgive you!” Words that are hard to express when someone we love has hurt us; but these words will also lead us to healing. God always forgives us even when we think that God will never forgive us, for He is generous and merciful.
This Lenten journey, we are all called to forgive and be serious in our life of conversion. Jesus reminds us in our Gospel that God indeed is so merciful, compassionate and always accepts us back even when we are unworthy due to our sinfulness. This is what God does for us in every Eucharist, He forgives us, we celebrate His generosity, and God rejoices our return showing us His overflowing mercy, goodness and love.
Let us pray that as we reflect on God’s forgiveness, His unmeasurable goodness and love for us, may we respond to Him with love knowing that when we put our trust in Jesus, we get what we don’t deserve – forgiveness. AMEN God loves you!
