Our carpet replacement project involves many more tasks than just pulling out the old carpet and laying down the new. We have been working hard to get these jobs done with a minimum amount to disruption to our parish liturgies & activities. But we are now at a critical stage where we must remove all the pews, tear out all the old carpet, strip, sand & re-finish the floor under the pews to allow for the new carpet to be installed the week of Oct 5-9. After the floor re-finishing and carpet installation, we must put the church back together (pews, sanctuary furniture, sound panels, stations of the cross, etc.).
In order to accomplish all this work in a safe and efficient manner, St. John Vianney church & hall will be closed from noon, Sunday September 27th until 8:00 AM on Sunday, October 11th. That means some temporary adjustments for those of us that normally attend Masses at SJV. During this time, 9:00 AM weekday Masses on September 28-30 and October 5-7 will be re-located to St. Ann’s. As well, the SJV 9:00 AM Mass on Sunday, October 4th will be celebrated at St. Ann’s. The SJV 11:00 AM Mass on Sunday, October 4th will be celebrated at St. Ann’s at 8:00 AM.
If you are registered for the SJV 9:00 AM Mass, you are registered for that Mass on Oct 4th at St. Ann’s. If you are among the first 49 people to arrive, you will be seated in the church, and otherwise you will be directed to the basement where the Mass will be live streamed. If you are registered for the SJV 11:00 AM Mass, you are asked to either attend at 8:00 AM at St. Ann’s or attend Mass via online live stream in your home.
We recognize that this represents a change to all & an inconvenience to some. There are however, two good pieces of news. 1) the inconvenience is only for a very brief time and 2) we are confident that you will be impressed when you get a chance to see & experience the refreshed interior of St. John Vianney Church. Thank you for your support and your patience!
