Renewal Reflections

Our Prayer After Communion calls us to a new beginning…

Hear in your compassion our prayers, O Lord, that, as we have been brought from things of the past to new mysteries, so, with former ways left behind, we may be made new in holiness of mind. Amen.

During the past months, we have journeyed through Lent, Easter Sunday, and the Easter Season to Pentecost. We have come through darkness and now stand at the threshold of a new beginning.

What has your journey looked like? What do you hope for with your new beginning? What doubts or fears are you bringing with you? What joys and anticipation and hope will be a part of this new journey?

Tomorrow is Pentecost – the great Solemnity of the coming of the Holy Spirit.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life…

I find myself asking what kind of new holiness am I being called to? I must admit, I have been on an unexpected journey of discovery these past months. I have found a new richness in my personal relationship with Jesus, my Lord. I’m curious to see what the Holy Spirit will surprise me with on the next step in my journey and pray that the courage and strength I need to commit to it will be given to me.

Here I am Lord, I come to do your will. Is it I, Lord?
