Holy Week Reflection: Easter Vigil

…this is the night…

This year the night’s liturgy will unfold in a new way. Yet Christ is still among us, still with us, still standing in front of us with an open hand inviting us to continue the journey of faith with a new conviction.

The Light of Christ pierces the darkness. The whole of the Church erupts in Exultation. Salvation history unfolds through Scripture. We are perplexed until Jesus calls our name. Alleluia erupts in song from the depths of our hearts.

Our Easter Vigil celebration begins streaming at 6:30 pm.

At the Gloria, sing with great joy and ring your bells.

Today, remember in your prayers those who have been journeying with us through the RCIA. Pray for Danielle, Leanne, Mike, Kyle, Amanda, Jessie, Lucy and their sponsors, that with patience and trust in the Lord, they will receive their Sacraments of Initiation with open hearts filled with Easter joy.

Continue your prayers for the end of the pandemic.

Father Obi invites each of us to take hold of a candle and choose Light. Pray in a loud voice:

Jesus, I choose you.
Jesus, I surrender my life to you.

We sing our prayer of faith in one united voice:

Thanks be to God, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
