Where God Meets Us

My beloved sisters & brothers,

A Blessed Christmas to all!

In the midst of our world’s darkness, a great Light has dawned. Christmas proclaims a truth our hearts long to hear: God has not abandoned His people. Into the shadows of fear, sin, grief, and weariness, the Father sends not an army or a command, but a Child. “To us a child is born, to us a son is given.” This is the miracle of Christmas—salvation received as gift, not earned by effort.

Isaiah’s prophecy reminds us that Christ is the Light who breaks every yoke that burdens the human heart. Whatever weighs upon us this day—loss, anxiety, uncertainty, or loneliness—is not stronger than the grace born in Bethlehem. The Child laid in a manger is our Wonderful Counselor, who understands our struggles; our Mighty God, who saves with power; our Everlasting Father, who loves with tenderness; and our Prince of Peace, whose kingdom of justice and mercy will never end.

With Psalm 96, the Church invites us to “sing to the Lord a new song.” This new song is the life of grace itself—lived day by day through faith, kindness, and quiet fidelity. All creation rejoices because God reigns, not from a throne of domination, but ultimately from the wood of the Cross. His judgment is good news, for He comes to set things right, to heal what is broken, and to restore hope.

St. Paul reminds us in Titus that “the grace of God has appeared.” Grace has a name: Jesus. This grace does not simply comfort us; it forms us. Living between Christ’s first coming in humility and His return in glory, we are called to live soberly, justly, and devoutly—becoming a people eager to do good in a wounded world.

In the Gospel, the shepherds go with haste to the manger, and Mary treasures these things in her heart. Today we are invited to do the same: to approach Christ with childlike faith, to make room for silence amid the noise, and to carry this joy into the world.

May this Christmas renew us as people of light—gentle, generous, and steadfast—until the day our blessed hope is fulfilled and Christ reigns forever in glory.

May the Baby Jesus fill you and your family with the abundance of His grace. Amen.

God Loves You!
