Be Holy as God is Holy

My beloved brothers and sisters,

Praise to you Lord Jesus!

On this weekend of my Priesthood Anniversary, I would like to personally thank you for your prayers and support for me. As some of you know I was ordained in St. Charles Garnier Parish in Kelowna on March 1, 2011. My parents were there for my priesthood ordination with all the priests of the Diocese of Nelson, some priests from St. Joseph seminary and neighboring dioceses with two Bishops present; Bishop Emeritus Eugene Cooney and Bishop John Corriveau.

I am so blessed to celebrate my 13th year anniversary as priest here in Penticton. I always consider the Okanagan as my second home, as I met lots people that have become my friends & family. My parents loves the Okanagan – they stayed in Kelowna for a year and they planned to come back. Unfortunately, in 2019 my father died.

One thing that I am grateful for, that God gave me the gift of the priesthood. I was ordained not for myself but for the Church, for the people of God. Priesthood is a gift from God. I consider myself unworthy but God always gives me that grace to be worthy in order to persevere in my ministry.

Our Gospel this weekend reminds us that Jesus is God’s most holy temple. It also reminds us of the sacredness not only of all places of worship but also of every person, especially those who have been baptized. We are God’s temples because He has imprinted in us His most sacred image in creation, and has consecrated us for His service at our baptism. Thus, in our Eucharistic celebrations this weekend, let us renew our commitment to keep all of God’s temples holy in every way and at all times. Have a blessed week! I will remember you all in my prayers.

God Loves You!

AMEN
