My dear friends,
Praise be Jesus Christ now and forever!
I am Back! Our Mission trip to Puerto Penasco, Mexico was a successful one. Thank you for your support and encouragement especially for your prayers. There were 29 of us from the Catholic School in Kelowna, (Immaculata Regional High School), 21 Students { 2 Grade 10} {12 Grade 11} {7 Grade 12}, 4 Teachers, 3 Parents and me. We built two houses – we were tired but we were filled with satisfaction for what we accomplished on our mission. We shared our blessings to two families by helping them build their homes but we were also being blessed with their stories and hardships in life. Jesus called us to be a light in the world today, wherever we are, and whatever we can. Jesus light becomes so real at our mission, which is the very message of our celebration this weekend.
This weekend, we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple. It invites us to focus on Jesus, the source of our Life and the Light of all. It reminds us also of our very own consecration to Jesus on the day of our baptism. Like Jesus, we are expected to live in an attitude of constant service to God & His people and to appreciate the life that God has given us by promoting and protecting it from whatever endangers. Let us pray and renew our commitment to God who gave His Light and Love to us.
